Educate and Support

The Oceanside Firefighters Charity Fund Outreach team is composed of active Oceanside Firefighters.  These proud first responders embrace the organization as a unique opportunity to expand their scope of local impact, looking to help the community they serve beyond the bell.

The team's purpose is to identify and evaluate educational and post crisis support opportunities.  The team's goals include:

  • Educational activities to improve lifesaving skills of citizens in the community, and to provide exposure to the community about what firefighters do and how to become a firefighter.
  • Providing resources, planning and assistance to ease the financial burden and smooth the crisis process for victims of crisis in the community
  • Providing financial assistance to the immediate families of fallen first responders.
  • Providing assistance in the form of scholarships to aspiring firefighters from the community who are enrolled in college level fire academies or courses of study.

Crown Heights Fire, 2019

On Friday April 12th, Oceanside Fire crews and community resources met with displaced families from the Division Fire and provided them with gift card donations from the Oceanside Firefighter's Charity. The families were taken to Kohl's for a shopping spree and then Dave and Buster's for an afternoon of games and dinner. This is only a small example of how the Oceanside community gets together to support those in need. Thanks to Oceanside Unified School District, Transformational Consulting, Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department, and our  local Target, Walmart, Kohl's, and Dave and Buster's.
